Like many photographers of my generation, my first camera was a late model Kodak Brownie which had been stashed away for years in my grandmother’s closet— next to a flashlight, a Brooklyn Yellow Pages, and a spare St. Anthony statue. I’ve been a photographer for over twenty-five years— many of those years as a commercial photographer in New York City— photographing catalogs and ads for the fine giftware and home furnishings market. I’ve also done portraiture, interiors, and travel photography.
I use many types of cameras— both analog and digital. I especially love hauling around my 4x5 view camera on an all too heavy tripod, as well as other— what some would consider— vintage cameras, including a 1970’s era Twin Lens Reflex, and various Polaroid cameras. I also always have on my person a pocket sized digital point and shoot camera, which helps me to see the world around me every second of the day.
